Love your blog, I will defo use it to keep tabs on you! You should be 'selfish' and enjoy your new adventure - you only get one life, live it your way! Love you xx

Hi guys

what a great idea! how does this bit work tho - do i get an email update from you or just keep checking back on the website?

sorry that we never got to catch up before you left, however, i guess with the beauty of the nature of facebook and t'internet, we'll continue to keep in touch with news of our respective adventures.

i'm so excited for you - if i had ever had the chance, i'd have grabbed it and gone headfirst into it. what an opportunity. enjoy every minute, don't miss home too much, like you say, it'll always be sitting there waiting for you. and if (as i suspect may indeed be the case) you decide home is no longer for you after 2 years - well, we'll all have somewhere lovely to build into our travels won't we?!

i do plan to come out to aus at some point in the next few years - either for placement, or to see other friends that are already out there - so, who knows, a catch-up sunny upside-down glass of wine may yet be on the cards for us.

I wish you all the best for the move and for the settling in period, and don't forget - those days/nights where you wish you'd stayed at home are perfectly normal, and will definitely ease in time. live for the moment!

much love, have fun! xxxx

Hi you 2!

So sorry I didn't get to catch up with you before you went but you know how mad my life is! The blog is a great idea and I will definately make myself green with envy by reading it religiously! I too would like to live in another country but a non english speaking one but now the kids are in school I feel bad taking them out, however, I was reading about Emma Thompson taking her kid out for a gap year and I thought what a cool idea! Hope you have a great time and let me know if you need anything sending like t ketchup lol? and definately do not think you are being selfish!!! You should not ruin your adventure with feelings of guilt! Go forth and soak up every experience that oz has to offer and relive your guilt by writing this blog so that all your friends and loved ones may live life vicariously (learned that big word in contract lol) and enjoy it too and maybe it will inspire more of us to have the guts to do it too xxxx much love (and did I mention envy?) Aims xxxx

Hi Minda and Steve. Welcome to Australia and lovely to read your blog. Completely forgot that you were arriving in Melbourne a few days before the most mental day of the year in your city. Cant believe its a national holiday for you guys!! I have had a tip from a taxi driver to put money on Linton.
Anyway, I look forward to reading your blog further but hey its great to know I am in the same country as you and may be part of a few of your escapades in the near future. xxx

Well, I never thought I'd see the day that Steve is excited enough about buying a shopping trolley, that he feels the need to Blog and tell the world! How funny!!!

Glad to hear that you are settling in well. and with a collection service on wine, who needs beer??

Have you seen anyone from Neighbours, Crocodile Dundee or Dame Edna yet?

Things are good here, Dad and Paul have just taken down the bandstand, only to discover a pretty decent stone patio underneath it, so I think I'll just keep that for a while :o)

On a less exciting note, having gotten rid of tonsillitis last weekend, a trip to the emergency doctors today has resulted in a diagnosis of Pleurasy and more antibiotics!!! Damn that mould!!

Can't wait to see photos of your permanent apartment when you get it, fingers crossed you get what you want xxx

Take care, will sort Skype out asap xx

Taking a well-deserved break from studying to read your blog. Also gives me a chance to make a cuppa and warm up - the heating in my study has broken - what a weekend to choose as I have HOURS more study to do for Monday's exams! All sounds so exciting in Melbourne, your pics are great but they make me HUNGRY! Nice to see a little sunshine after all the snow here - enjoy it for us. Good luck for the job - more new and interesting (hopefully) people to be met.... xx

Hi Minda, I'm advisedly told that you're probably on Summer Vacation right now? Good to hear that nothing's really changed and that life's still a blast for you! Brad (the mad Aussie,as I call him!)says the only local football team to support is The Hawks (Hawthorn)so you'd better sign up!

We're having an east meets west Xmas with Jamie and Sui Kee and Lucy and Brad in Kent with 7 of Sui's family who have come over from KL and her parents.

Take care.R

Hi chick

Another miserable cold day in Donny but I have been warmed by reading your blog and drooling over all the lovely meals you have been having, I can practically taste it with the clear pictures!!

We have now moved into our castle so things are a little less stressful however I still have months of finishing off jobs.

I laughed out loud reading your rant about Australian recruitment consultants, maybe I need to move to Melbourne and we can set up a business together to train them all.

Happy new year to you and Steve.
Xxxxx
