We ate for energy and left the boys and hit the road for some shopping action. Tanya had been telling us about Harris Scarfe (a store that sold discount kitchenware and everything else) and how great it was so we tracked down a local one and planned an expedition.
We found it pretty easily and scored a good parking space which was to come in very useful as we made several trips to the car with our bags! Harris Scarfe is very much like TK Maxx or TJ Hughes in UK and given how expensive everything is in Australia it was refreshing to find homeware at a better price.
My shopping list consisted of some steak knives and a new electric toothbrush as my charger is broken and I came away with 8 steak knives at $24 and a snazzy new wireless toothbrush at an ok price. Also bought some new wine crystal wine glasses for $30 for 6 and they were half price.
Karly did well and bought all sorts of things and two latex pillows. She didn't even have pillows on her list but picked them up anyway. Tanya also bought wine glasses. Given we all bought wine glasses - what does that say about us?
We had a mooch round the shopping centre and I couldn't help but feel like I was a teenager again hanging around a shopping centre on a Saturday (except it was a Sunday) with my pocket money! I stopped myself from following boys though which is what I would have done had I been 14 again!
