Birthday celebrations for special people mean special weekends and Jacqui's research led us to www.happyglamper.com.au
Well, what a find! We arrived post work on the Friday evening and it was all set up and the bunting was out welcoming us! With a fridge, kettle, lights, beautifully patterned mats and bed linen, vintage decor this was definitely glamping! And naturally we raised the stakes with Veuve and mimosas at breakfast time!
After glamping came Chinese New Year and we've done nothing to celebrate. But our friend Tim came to the rescue and invited us to join his table at the HSBC Annual Chinese New Year Celebrations at Crown Casino.
It was a fun evening with lion dancing amongst the tables and lots to eat and drink.
Valentine's Day also occurred and Steve decided that this year love is about yellow lillies.
After setting up on the Friday night, Steve cranked up the Primus stove and we had delicious steak, potatoes and prosciutto wrapped asparagus.
The weather was cooler than it has been so after a post breakfast breezy beach walk we retired to a cute cafe for tea and newspaper reading. this was followed by lunch and walk back to camp where it was reclining chairs at the ready and a snooze in the fresh air.
The trusty stove served us well again for dinner and this time we had sausages, goats cheese stuffed peppers and more asparagus and prosciutto. A sparkling Shiraz from Heathcote kept the chills away before darkness and bedtime arrived.
It was a much warmer day so we enjoyed an hour in the sun just on the esplanade before heading to lunch which was delicious.
Speaking of delicious...Amelia is just delicious. She talks gobbledy gook now and likes to imitate as well as dance. She is a ball of fizzing energy and even the camera cannot keep up with her hence lots of blurring!
