Basically Steve came down with a bug or food poisoning yesterday (Saturday) and I have a churny tummy too so all is grim here chez Barley!
But whilst we're recovering on the sofa, let me fil you in on what has gone on.
A few weeks ago Heston Blumenthal was in town so Steve and I went to his show to see what it was all about.
It was a multi sensory few hours where Heston demonstrated the odd experiment with some audience participation, a couple of larger scale interactions with everyone in the theatre and lots of use of videos to experience life at the Fat Duck.
It's not the clearest photo but Heston was down at the bench and used the big screen a lot to show videos and close ups of what was going on.
As luck would have it we were seated next to a friend of mine from work Kirsten and her boyfriend.
Steve spent a rainy Saturday at the Melbourne Great Beer SpecTAPular along with some work colleagues which turned into a bit of a Fitzroy pub crawl. What else is there to do when it's raining and beer drinking began at midday but to carry on?
Definitely a fan of Gold Class from the cushioned reclining chair to the at seat service which we took advantage of. Two hotdogs, two beers, one liqueur coffee and a diet coke later...
Last night we met up with Rachel and Tim. Steve was ill so actually didn't spend that much time with them at all but I enjoyed catching up with them over dinner. Their new apartment is spankinly new and very swish. They've really made it into a comfortable and stylish home for themselves.
