Highlights include spending days outdoors on our deck moving from chair to lounger to pool to day bed and back round again and then before you know it, it's dinner time! We also took out a little boat for a day and explored the seas and had a divine picnic on a deserted beach. We also had an epic seafood dinner that had to be eaten across dinner and lunch there was so much of it. I loved hearing the sound of the waves and really missed it when it was replaced by the sound of traffic and trams when we returned to Melbourne. Making post lunch or pre dinner cocktails in the well stocked bar was also a lot of fun and brought out the experimental bartender inside of me!
Our anniversary celebrations continued as Steve bought me a new ring which is the v shaped band in the picture to go under another ring I have. So that is a constant reminder of our ten years of marriage which is lovely.
It was an extravagant weekend and we knew Christmas was coming fast so we decided to try and have a quieter November with less dining out which we actually achieved. We stilla te extremely well though as Steve cooked at home a lot! Lucky me!
The second class was a knife skills class which was more technical and we learnt how to joint a whole chicken just using a small knife and de bone a whole chicken completely. We also refined our onion slicing and chopping skills, herb chopping abilities, filleted fish and peeled tomatoes and oranges. All very useful and a lot of fun.
Having not seen her for almost ten years and not met Barry and Ben we had a fun day in the Yarra Valley tasting wine and having lunch. Ben enjoyed the wine too!
We have lots planned so I will share with you what we get up to. In the meantime, enjoy the festivities and Steve and I wish you all the very best.
