We followed up our Sorrento getaway with another birthday celebration; this time it was Jacqui's coming of age so we had a lovely weekend with Family Davis in Rosebud on the Mornington Peninsula.

Birthday celebrations for special people mean special weekends and Jacqui's research led us to www.happyglamper.com.au

Well, what a find! We arrived post work on the F
riday evening and it was all set up and the bunting was out welcoming us! With a fridge, kettle, lights, beautifully patterned mats and bed linen, vintage decor this was definitely glamping! And naturally we raised the stakes with Veuve and mimosas at breakfast time!

We spent a glorious Saturday in the sunshine on a beach that over the course of the day we shared with others but really there was space for plenty. Steve and the boys played endless games of cricket and at night we retired to the comfort of our huge bell tent where we didn't need to stoop to enter unlike our own tent and there was just so much room. No rolling off the air mattress!

After glamping came Chinese New Year and we've done nothing to celebrate. But our friend Tim came to the rescue and invited us to join his table at the HSBC Annual Chinese New Year Celebrations at Crown Casino.

It was a fun evening with lion dancing amongst the tables and lots to eat and drink.

Valentine's Day also occurred and Steve decided that this year love is about yellow lillies.

SAfter the luxury of glamping, you'd think it would be hard to go back to camping. Well we gave it a go this weekend. We really have embraced getting out of the city for the weekend and this time we finished work on Friday, packed up the car and headed West to Anglesey which is the start of the Great Ocean Road.

After setting up on the Friday night, Steve cranked up the Primus stove and we had delicious steak, potatoes and prosciutto wrapped asparagus.

The weather was cooler than it has been so after a post breakfast breezy beach walk we retired to a cute cafe for tea and newspaper reading. this was followed by lunch and walk back to camp where it was reclining chairs at the ready and a snooze in the fresh air.

The trusty stove served us well again for dinner and this time we had sausages, goats cheese stuffed peppers and more asparagus and prosciutto. A sparkling Shiraz from Heathcote kept the chills away before darkness and bedtime arrived.

A Sunday lunch reservation in the neighbouring town of Torquay meant that the make up less, mismatched but warm and comfy outfits and dirty flop shod feet had to do one and a more civilised appearance magicked up. The amenity block at the camp site was large, clean and uncrowded so that helped.

It was a much warmer day
so we enjoyed an hour in the sun just on the esplanade before heading to lunch which was delicious.

Speaking of delicious...Amelia is just delicious. She talks gobbledy gook now and likes to imitate as well as dance.
She is a ball of fizzing energy and even the camera cannot keep up with her hence lots of blurring!

We are Steve and Minda and we've been given the opportunity to move to Melbourne for two years. We arrived November 2010 and passed that two year milestone and are now Australian citizens! This is a blog of our experiences as we move to this new country, settle in and have fun!
