We're six months in. Does it feel like six months that we've left UK? Not really sure. There have been moments in the last couple of weeks that have made me miss home. I missed out on my close friend Helen's wedding and I should have been there. I'm missing out on seeing my close friend Andrea bloom during pregnancy. I've missed out dear Adele's birthday. I've missed out on Royal Wedding parties.
But we stay positive and we are continually thankful that we can experience a lot of fun things this side of the World. In spite of the heartache, we're still making the most of it and we know there will be many more moments of joy to share with friends and family when we return home.
So what have we been up to since Daylesford? For those that know us, it goes without saying we've eaten some good food! There have been some great Saturday lunches and weekend brunches. We've caught up with seeing some Aussie friends as we've been so busy recently with family visits that we haven't seen them for a while. We had a cinema double date with Ling and Noah to see Fast 5. I want a fast car! Steve has been to the AFL and seen the Richmond Tigers win for once. They're mid table now!
Royal Wedding was viewed with Karly and Cam. Karly is a work colleague whom I have bonded over lunchtime errands. She very kindly invited us over to watch the nuptials when she realised we had no plans. The evening was spent toasting the happy couple many times over with a fun game of throwing the contents of her salad drawer over the balcony!
This weekend we had drinks and dinner with some of Steve's work colleagues and other halves and we went to Emma's for a BBQ last night where we met up with Charlotte, Vida, Lucy and Steve and made some new friends too.
We're only 7 days into May but it is definitely mayhem with lots of weekend activities planned. Today has been a bit more relaxed. It's Mother's Day over here so we're not going to go out. Instead we will be cooking Honey Quail and Lamb Stew and Dumplings!
