There was also a girls catch up at Chin Chin where we overindulged in South East Asian cuisine washed down with a cocktail.

Friday night was a Docklands delight. The Docklands is a relatively new area that is still being developed. The Etihad stadium is there as are various offices and new apartment blocks. It's still a touch too new and quiet; we viewed some apartments there when we arrived but for a change in scenery and good night view over water it's not a bad place to pass some time.
For some reason, every Friday evening over Winter there is a free fireworks display off the Central pier. To aid firework fun and to add to the merriment there is a bar at end of the pier with an outdoor heated terrace and 2 for 1 drinks till 8pm. We scored a great little seating area with a first class view of the fireworks and merriment ensued.

This is Cam smoking the apple shisha pipe in a dragon like fashion.
However some food, Coke Zero and some playtime in the park put me right. The boys kept us entertained with their appetites to eat pasta, funny running and balloon blowing. Karly and I sat on a park bench and watched the kids in the park thinking about future motherhood and how taking kids to the park whilst hungover may become a very familiar and much experienced outing. A couple of drinks with Karly back in the CBD and it was time to get ready to hit another new suburb, this time Port Melbourne to catch up with some of Steve's work colleagues and respective WHAGs (wives, husbands and girl/guyfriends).
Living in the CBD has its advantages and we love it; so much so we've signed up for another year in our current apartment but there is a downside in that we don't have many friends that are also neighbours. The Port Melbourne posse at Steve's workplace felt sorry for us and extended a pity invite to us to join them for drinks and dinner in their stomping ground.
Conversation flowed freely over wine and food and topics covered reality TV, sport (always a popular one), Olympics tickets, Harry Potter and other entertaining subjects. We look forward to gatecrashing the next Port Melbourne gathering!
