We met Jacqui, her husband Richard and their two very cute boys Pete and Tom at a winery in Healesville and had a great lunch gorging on pizza, chips, tasty sandwiches and red wine. Meet Pete and Tom below. Pete is in the green top and Tom in the white one. You can also say hello to Karly and Cam.
The Davis family returned home and we scored an invite to swing by after our next stop and the rest of us headed to my favourite winery, Coldstream Hills. Last time we went (with my mum and sis) we were served by this lovely older gentleman who had said that the 2010 vintage would be ready if we were to return in a month or so. And indeed there was some stuff for me to try that I'd not had before and the same man served us. Coldstream Hills did not disappoint and reaffirmed it's place in my heart as my favourite Yarra Valley winery. Granted I've not tried them all yet but I've yet to find a rival.
I believe the Barnes' enjoyed it too. Karly started off enjoying her first tipple and saying it was her favourite but during the course of her tastings, I believe everything that passed her lips was called favourite. She calls herself suggestible; I say fickle. Anyway the Barnes' wished to purchase as did we. The Barley cellar needs replenishment so we did a mixed dozen which meant that we could pass a small discount to the Barnes' two bottle purchase.
Final stop of the day was chez Davis where Steve and I enjoyed a nice cup of tea and the others indulged in more wine. There was general chit chat and garden games before we left them in peace and dropped off the Barnes' to enjoy their slow cooked beef in red wine. As for the Barleys, we called in at Nando's!
