We had a cosy little table under some heaters and service was friendly and quick. Perfect for a lunch break. It was so hard to choose between the burger and fries for $19, the club sandwich for $20 or the 48 hour lamb leg, Yorkshire pudding, buttered mash and mint salad for $24.
Stef and I came to an agreement to share the burger and the lamb. The dishes arrived promptly and the burger was a cute little one in a brioche bun with cheese and bacon and some crunchy hand cut fries. It was a good burger - juicy and meaty and we felt it was great value.
The lamb came with cute little onion rings and the mash was creamy, velvety and buttery. Very comforting. The Yorkshire pudding was also filled with mash and topped with slices of roast lamb. The Yorkshire pudding was a little heavy and doughy but the gravy helped and I guess expectations of Yorkshire puddings in Australia can't be too exacting. Overall it was pretty yummy and I'd happily return for more.
Cafe Vue was a brilliant work day lunch venue - food was good, service was efficient, polite and prompt. Good choice Charlie.
