Steve and I started with a cup of chilli and a cup of chicken tortilla soup which was appropriately presented in rustic disposable containers.
The chilli was meaty with a good topping of cheese and I enjoyed the warming thick soup with the crunchy shreds of tortilla. I'd have loved a bit more coriander and maybe some more texture with corn and black beans. There were generous chunks of avocado and chicken though. Great value at $7 for the chilli and $6 for the soup.
The fries were crunchy and nicely salted. Very enjoyable, The onion rings were a little overbattered and the onion wasn't sweet enough but it was a huge portion for $5.
The burgers although looked good sadly lacked in flavour. Both were a bit bland. I found the chicken one a little dry in spite of the cheese and some mayo. Steve's burger was super juicy but it lacked seasoning and a meatiness to it. We both agreed the bacon wasn't flavoursome or salty enough and didn't really taste of much.
We really wanted to enjoy these burgers so we'd have a cheaper alternative to the awesome $25 Rockpool burger but sadly this wasn't it. We even agreed that we'd rather have a Grill'd burger. However, we did really like the fries and the soup and chilli so would definitely return and enjoy those instead.
